JenaBatteries GmbH is a spin-off of the Friedrich-Schiller-University and has made an economically significant development by optimizing the original redox-flow-battery together with a researchers team of the University, consisting of Tobias Janoschka, Dr. Martin Hager and Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schubert, who is the scientific advisor of JenaBatteries.
The chemists presented their innovation of the redox-flow-battery based on organic polymers and water in October 2015. “What’s new and innovative about our battery is that it can be produced at much less cost, while nearly reaching the capacity of traditional metal and acid containing systems” – says Dr. Martin Hager proudly.
